Inpatient Withdrawal Management
Medical inpatient detox treatment is necessary when an adult incurs significant withdrawal symptoms. CareWell Health offers a licensed unit that uses an intense, short-term care strategy to offer relief and stabilize patients.
After evaluating each patient, our team of doctors, nurses, counselors, social workers and care managers creates a personalized treatment plan that involves group therapy, counseling, medication monitoring and discharge planning.
Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT)
Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) is primarily used for the treatment of addiction to opioids and alcohol during detox. MAT includes medications such as naltrexone (Vivitrol) and buprenorphine (Suboxone).
These medications help manage withdrawal symptoms and cravings, supporting patients through the detox process and improving long-term recovery outcomes.
Direct Admission Process
Prescreening
One of our addiction counselors will greet you and begin the prescreening process to see whether you are qualified for detox treatment as soon as you arrive at the CareWell Health lobby between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, 7 days a week. Both mental and physical screenings will be part of the process to guarantee the best possible care outcome.
Registration / Orientation
Registration and program orientation start as soon as you are found to be eligible for admission. A program overview that includes what to expect at our facility and the kind of detox treatment offered is part of the orientation process.
Clinical Evaluation
Our nursing staff will evaluate you medically once you are registered and admitted, making sure all your health needs are met for safe detox and withdrawal management.
Plan of Care
Your plan of care will be determined by a comprehensive medical, mental health, and substance use evaluation once placed on the Withdrawal Management Unit. Every patient will participate in the formulation of their detox treatment and discharge plans as part of their continuous care.

Everything you need to know about our detox program
Detox is a process in which individuals stop using drugs, alcohol, and other substances so he/she can overcome physical dependency and addiction.
Our inpatient withdrawal management staff are accessible to answer calls from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, 7 days a week. The detox unit provides 24-hour medical and nursing care for admitted patients. Please visit our emergency room if you require inpatient detox or withdrawal management services outside of our regular business hours to obtain clearance for admission.
The direct admission process begins when you arrive at the CareWell Health lobby between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, 7 days a week. An addiction counselor will conduct a prescreening (mental and physical), followed by registration and orientation, a clinical evaluation by nursing staff, and the development of a personalized detox plan of care. An individual who is a danger to self and/or others, exhibiting violent behaviors and/or threats, have an acute medical condition that requires intensive medical care, other non-alcohol, non-opioid, and non-benzodiazepines use.
If an admission is denied, the patient is provided with an appropriate referral as clinically indicated.

The average length of stay is 3 to 5 days, as clinically indicated.
Visiting is determined by the Detox Treatment Team based on the individual's clinically needs.
We encourage patients to leave their valuable items at home. Any valuable brought to the hospital is itemized and secured by hospital security before admission and released upon discharge. Personal clothing is limited to 3 to 5 days and any personal items left behind will be discarded within 30 days after discharge. Patient who do not have personal belongings will be permitted to have items dropped off arranged by staff. All personal clothing and/or possession is searched for safety.
No! Contraband such as illicit substances and/or weapons will be confiscated and discarded by hospital security.
All treatment cost is billed to the individual's health insurance. Individuals who do not have health insurance are encouraged to apply for Charity Care.
