Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit

Millions of Americans live with some form of mental illness. In the past decade, medical science has made huge strides in diagnosing and treating all forms of mental illness, providing hope to many. CareWell Health Medical Center has served as a beacon of hope for many in and around the community of CareWell Health.

The Inpatient Behavioral Health unit on 4 Main consists of an 18 bed voluntary unit and a 19 bed involuntary (short term care facility, STCF) unit. The unit serves adults suffering from acute episodes of major psychiatric disorders that are so severe that they require a more restrictive environment than that available in the community.

The scope and complexity of care needs for patients receiving care on the Inpatient Behavioral Health unit include multiple conditions such as psychiatric, medical, and substance abuse. The patients come from many settings such as private homes, boarding homes, group homes, and homeless conditions.

Discharge & Aftercare Referrals

Various staffs are involved in the preparation of patient's discharge to home, shelters, boarding homes, group homes, correctional facilities, and county or state hospitals. Upon discharge, patients are provided referrals for aftercare to:

Partial Hospitalization Services
Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Services
Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT)
Intensive Case Management Services (ICMS)
Project for Assistance in Transitional from Homelessness (PATH)
